Every colored rectangle in this earring design represents a grouping of species into classes, with one bead representing a group of 50 species. The color of the rectangle indicates the percent of threatened species in that group, as listed below.
White: 1 – 15% threatened
Cobalt: 16 – 30% threatened
Red: 31 – 45% threatened
Yellow: > 46% threatened
This data is for extant species only, for which at least 80% of the population has been evaluated by IUCN teams and representative of only the groups that have at least 150 species.
